Cancer Evolution, Resistance & Prevention (CERP) is an international, peer-reviewed, fully open-access journal dedicated to advancing fundamental, translational, and interdisciplinary research across the continuum of cancer biology. The journal provides a global platform for high-quality scientific research in cancer evolution, cancer resistance, cancer prevention, tumour biology, oncology, early detection, comparative oncology, One Health, and related interdisciplinary areas.
Recognizing cancer as a complex and dynamic evolutionary disease, CERP aims to advance understanding of tumour initiation, adaptation, clonal evolution, tumour heterogeneity, metastatic progression, cancer resistance, dormancy, regression, prevention, early detection, and treatment response. The journal intentionally adopts cancer resistance as a broad scientific theme encompassing intrinsic and acquired resistance, host and immune-mediated mechanisms, natural cancer resistance across species, evolutionary adaptation, and therapeutic resistance as an important component of this wider field.
CERP fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across molecular and cellular biology, evolutionary biology, tumour biology, clinical oncology, cancer immunology, computational biology, genomics, precision medicine, epidemiology, public health, veterinary medicine, comparative oncology, and One Health. Particular emphasis is placed on research that bridges disciplines and species to generate new insights into cancer susceptibility, evolution, resistance, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
Comparative Oncology and One Health form integral components of the journal's scientific identity. CERP encourages studies involving naturally occurring cancers in animals, cross-species comparisons of cancer biology and resistance, and research integrating human, animal, and environmental health perspectives to address fundamental and translational questions in cancer research.
The journal publishes original research articles, reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, short communications, perspectives, and commentaries. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review, and accepted work is made freely available under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) License, supporting immediate and permanent non-commercial access to published scholarly research.
